Dr. Eilerman was born and raised in Minster, Ohio. With a love for science and a desire to pursue optometry, she continued her education at Miami University with a major in zoology and a minor in neuroscience. Upon graduation in 2010, Dr. Eilerman switched gears and joined Teach For America where she taught 7th grade science for two years in Bridgeport, Connecticut. It was this experience that inspired her interest in teaching.
Dr. Eilerman returned to Ohio in 2012 to attend optometry school at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. As a student, she was awarded a NIH T35 Research grant that fueled her interest in pursuing research as a student and ultimately provided the groundwork for her presentation at the American Academy of Optometry Meeting and Masters Degree. Dr. Eilerman was also involved as secretary of both the 2016 Class Council and Optometry Student Council, President of the Student Chapter of the American Academy of Optometry, Co-Captain of the The College's Pelotonia Team, The Rolling Eyes, and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Eilerman graduated from The OSU College of Optometry in 2016 with a dual Doctor of Optometry (OD)/ Master in Vision Science (MS) degree.
After graduation, Dr. Eilerman worked in various private practices with an interest in specialty contact lenses for patients with conditions such as keratoconus, other irregular corneas, and high prescriptions. In 2019, Dr. Eilerman earned her Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) after completing and passing all written and oral requirements. She also accepted a position as a part-time clinical attending at The Ohio State University College of Optometry where she gets the pleasure of working with and teaching optometry students in the Primary Vision Care and Contact Lens Clinics. It is this combination of private practice and teaching at the College that fosters her desire to keep learning the latest in the field, incorporating into her practice and teachings, and caring for her patients.
Outside the office, Dr. Eilerman loves spending time with her family, being outside, riding her Peloton, outdoor cycling, yoga, and kayaking. She and her husband, Curt, have two beautiful girls.
